It’s been 10 days since our last blog post (sorry about that!). Normally, we try to post at least once per week to keep our users updated on the current progress of VirtaPay, including the features we’re working on, what we need our users to test and so on.
Why the delay?
The delay happened because we have been considering a lot of feedback from our EarlyBird users, and using your feedback to create a more complete feature list for the upcoming Stage 2 launch of the Digital Delivery (DD) project. We thought we had a good idea of what to build into the Stage 2 launch, but we discovered that our users wanted more. So, we have been working to finalize a new feature list including the most requested features for the upcoming Stage 2 launch.
Features for Stage 2
Problem Fixes. Many of the features coming soon are designed to fix problems that became apparent in Stage 1. For example, we are building in Facebook integration to mitigate the problem of abusive users who create multiple accounts and those who repeatedly post inappropriate items.
Cash Flow. In addition, it’s become very clear that many users want to use VirtaPay to start earning a steady stream of regular money to your existing bank accounts… and so, many of the new features will focus on allowing you to do exactly that.
Affiliate Program. As part of the last item (cash flow), we are working on creating and integrating the long-awaited affiliate program into VirtaPay. The details have not been finalized yet, but we expect the affiliate program will allow you to earn as much as $100 per month for each referral. Even better, it will be designed to attract new referrals much more easily than with most traditional affiliate programs.

Stage 1 of the Digital Delivery (DD) project has been live for a few weeks now. In that time, we have decided to integrate Facebook more deeply than we originally planned. It is very important that all VirtaPay users read this post to understand what Facebook integration features are in the works and why. Please read on…

Why Facebook integration?

From the time we gave our users the ability to sell items, certain people or organizations have been flooding the item listings with inappropriate items. This is an abuse of our service and resources. It also pushes out our valued users who are trying to buy and sell legitimate items.

The item spammers have disrupted our service to the point where many of our valued users don’t even bother to look at the items on the Buy page any longer. They are tired of seeing the spam listings. The spammers have been creating multiple accounts to post the same unwanted, inappropriate items over and over.

Although we have come up with many ways to slow the flood of inappropriate items, and have continuously deleted the multiple accounts of the spammers, it hasn’t been effective enough.

Facebook account required…

We will soon require all users to link a Facebook account to their VirtaPay account. Facebook provides identity verification services that will help eliminate the abusive users. We expect that by taking this step the problem of item spammers and multiple accounts will become far more manageable. In addition, it will help free our developers to continue working on new features and improving our service, rather than constantly struggling to find ways to stop abusive users.

We may eventually remove the requirement for all VirtaPay users to link a Facebook account. But, during our development stages, while we are still developing our service, it will soon be a requirement for all users.

What features are coming?

Stage 2 of the DD project is in the works. The Facebook integration is part of Stage 2.

• You will soon be able to log into your VirtaPay account using Facebook.
• You will be able to send payments by pulling up your Facebook friends instead having to know the recipient’s VirtaPay username.
• Your Facebook friends will be able to easily send you a VirtaPay payment.

Stage 2 will also include new features designed to help you begin earning a steady flow of regular money (US dollars, euros, pesos, etc.) to your existing bank account. These cash flow features will work whether you’re a Buyer, a Seller or both.

PAREPARE.Tim Tujuh menemukan sebanyak sepuluh pelanggaran pada proyek pembangunan pasar
Lakessi kota Parepare yang mengarah pada tindak pidana korupsi.Ini dibeberkan penasehat Tim
Tujuh, H.Abd Rahman Mappagiling siang tadi, Jum’at (04/03/2011).
“Sudah sangat cukup dan kuat bukti untuk menggiring kisruh pasar Lakessi ke ranah hukum,
bahkan kami menemukan sepuluh pelanggaran dilakukan eksekutif, kontraktor proyek pasar
Lakessi dan DPRD,” kata Rahman.
Mantan anggota DPRD Parepare itu membeberkan, diantara sepuluh item pelanggaran pada proyek
pembangunan pasar Lakessi yang sangat fatal merugikan keuangan negara yakni, proses lelang
tidak prosedural, bestek dibongkar pasang, beberapa kali penambahan anggaran yang tidak
sesuai lagi dengan kontrak awal antara pihak pemerintah Kota Parepare dengan kontraktor yang
mengerjakan pembangunan pasar Lakessi.
“Rencana awal pembangunan pasar Lakessi hanya sebesar Rp.41 Miliar, namun dalam
perjalanannya membengkak menjadi Rp.71 Miliar, bahkan terkahir pemkot Parepare mengusulkan
tambahan Rp.5 miliar, sehingga sangat kuat bukti bagi Polisi dan Jaksa untuk memulai
melakukan penyelidikan sampai pada tingkat penyidikan,” jelas Rahman.
Ditempat yang sama, penasehat Tim Tujuh lainnya, H.A Ridha Ali sangat menyesalkan jika
penegak hukum tidak melakukan tindakan hukum dalam mensikapi dugaan korupsi pada proyek
pembangunan pasar Lakessi.
“Sesuai data yang kami kumpulkan, kami sangat berkeyakinan bahwa pada proses pembangunan
pasar Lakessi telah terjadi tindak pidana korupsi. Tim Tujuh siap memberikan bukti-bukti
kepada penyidik kepolisian atau kejaksaan atas pelanggaran pada proyek pasar Lakessi,” kata
Ridha Ali.
Sementara itu, pedagang pasar Lakessi masih tetap bertahan pada nilai proyek pembangunan
pasar Lakessi yang menjadi kesefakatan awal antara pedagang pasar Lakessi dengan pemerintah
kota Parepare sebesar Rp. 41 miliar.
“Jika pemerintah kota Parepare membuka harga lods, kios dan toko dengan berpatokan pada
nilai proyek pembangunan pasar Lakessi senilai Rp. 71 Miliar, maka kami tidak bisa terima.
Karena sesuai kesefakatan, pedagang pasar Lakessi berkewajiban mengembalikan pinjaman dari
Bank Dunia sebesar Rp. 41 Miliar untuk digunakan membangun pasar Lakessi,” kata Rusdi salah
satu pedagang pasar Lakessi. (andi fajar)
